U.S. Cellular has partnered with wireless software developer Novarra to launch nweb, an Internet browser that provides access to the World Wide Web over cell phones. While this is not the “walled garden” that many telcos receive criticism for offering, BREW-based nweb is being licensed, not sold. Customers can rent the service for a day (US$1.19) or a month (US$4.99).
