The mobile arm of France Telecom Group, Orange, has announced a range of 3G initiatives across Europe.
The telco will launch commercial 3G services in the UK and France before the end of the year. Through the Freemove Alliance, Orange customers will be able to roam with their 3G devices across major towns and cities in Spain, Italy and Germany, in addition to the extensive Orange 3G networks in the UK and France.
MobiStar, the second largest wireless operator in Belgium and part of Orange, has announced it will use Nortel Networks wireless equipment to roll out its 3G network.
However, in Switzerland Orange chose to go with Nokia.
