Hutchison Whampoa is finally getting some competition in the Asian 3G space with Hong Kong’s SmarTone Telecommunications Holdings announced Tuesday it will roll out its third-generation mobile phone network in December, making it the territory’s second provider of 3G services.
Also, Vodacom will offer 3G services in South Africa.
