engadget is reporting today that RIM is working on a Blackberry PDA that will operate on the Verizon EV DO network. EV DO is a high speed wireless technology that Verizon has been rolling out a few cities at a time over the last year as the network is installed. The Verizon EV DO provides download speeds in the 200 – 300 Kpbs range and I’ve been waiting for it to hit Houston. This would be a real coup for both RIM and Verizon to have a Blackberry operating on the Verizon network. engadget is claiming a February 2005 release.(via engadget)
