In UK, Britain’s major soccer leagues and its daily newspapers are battling each other over game photos, mainly online…The talks have broken down over a number of issues, but a critical one is the demand of the soccer leagues to impose a two-hour embargo after the end of the game before newspapers can post photos on their websites. Sports negotiators also wanted to impose limited windows of opportunities during games when photographers could send out images.
The proposed policy would also affect photo agencies like Getty Images, which is based in London and supplies photographs to clients around the world…
