Recently, Wired said it would start lowercasing “Internet”…an editorial in Mercury News takes an interesting viw of it: “The capital letter turns the Internet into a specific locale — not a physical place, of course, but a social one. It implies a conurbation where a single extended community is taking form — sort of a virtual Santa Clara, only with cheaper rentals”
