Online marketing and content company Intermix (fka eUniverse) has about out Focalex for $4 million in cash and stock. Focalex was established in 1999 to run e-mail marketing programs. The firms says 300,000 people use its “Tell-A-Friend” product, which allows users to share Web site content. Focalex then sells advertising and sales leads based on that information.
