This is interesting: the R&D lab has been developing somethign called “Mervlets” – mobile servlets, which is a modified and much lighter version of Java servlets…
Mervlets will enable the phone to be a service provider to other phones and even the Internet users at large. This will allow “the plumber” to host his own Web site and even e-business solution right on his phone! Mervlets will also enable exciting peer-to-peer applications among social networks, and will allow higher levels of security and personalization by filtering OTA contents. Some more explanation here…
