Why do they hate us?

Often Microserfs complain why do they hate us? I don’t know, maybe because your dumb fat chief executive makes statements like most IPOD users are thieves. Can someone please take this man to Ms. Manners and have him spend some of his mega billions on learning some common courtesies.

Billing Microsoft as the good guys and Apple the villains of the piece – at least as far as corporate America, rather than users, is concerned, Ballmer said: “We’ve had DRM in Windows for years. The most common format of music on an iPod is ‘stolen’.” Most people still steal music,” he said. “We can build the technology but there are still ways for people to steal music.”

If you want your customers to stay loyal, or if you want to get more consumers to use your second rate technology, then perhaps not calling them thieves is a good start. And look at who he is calling thieves. Just take a quick refresher in Microsoft’s own dark history. Actually it is not just him. Hollywood and Music companies, despite getting fat off our wallets continue to call us consumers thieves. Hey just like there are those porn-film makers, there are some who download illegal music, and movies. Most of us buy music, 99 cents a song from ITunes, and will continue to do so!

Robert Scoble I have new found respect for you! (That’s all the reactions from the bloguniverse!)
Andrew Orlowski: We create music in order to share it. We’ve been sharing it for thousands of years. And people pay to hear it. Since the invention of transmission and recording technology you’ve been able to monetize this desire, and build an industry on it.
