In UK, mobile operators are getting ready for a 3G Christmas. 3’s already there in UK…Orange, one of the four main incumbent mobile operators, is planning to launch its own 3G service in time for Christmas. From November, Vodafone will start selling up to nine different types of new 3G handset to consumers. T-Mobile is also aiming to launch its 3G services before Christmas.
OPerator 3 is having some success with its multimedia services, a good sign: it is understood to have generated about a quarter of its August data revenues from services other than texts. Just weeks after 3 launched its music video and football clips, they are already among its most popular services.
