Well, Nokia has finally convinced a second station to carry its visual radio interactive-radio-through-mobiles technology. Virgin Radio aims to be the first company in the UK, and the second in the world (Kiss FM in Finland, in Nokia’s homeland, is the first one), to provide interactive video radio.
The station plans to launch the service before the end of the year. The interactive function would let listeners vote on records, buy MP3s and ring tones, take part in sponsorships and campaigns and buy tickets for concerts and other products and services via their phones.
The function, which only work for now on Nokia 7700, is due for release in the UK early next year.
