As the debate intensifies over how well mobile personalization applications travel, Thailand’s leading cellco aims to rack up $24 million in revenue from ringback tones this year.
The Thai mobile operator launched ringback tones last December and in eight months has signed up over 2.5 million subscribers.
Interesting this: Sixty-percent of AIS’ ringback tone revenue comes from monthly subscriptions, adding an additional 12% to ARPU for prepaid users, which account for 85% of its user base.
