UK’s tabloid Sun is planning to cut down on its website, as it says that big cannibalization is happening with its print readers..
That was last week..this week Guardian follows up with an analysis story…the move has caught industry players by surprise, especially since Sun’s site is successful: Hugo Drayton, managing director of the Telegraph group, said: “We shouldn’t get too hung up on the medium, and give the users information in whatever medium suits their lifestyle.”
And most of the experts seems to doubt that cutting back on website content would help reverse any print sales decline. “If a paper did that it would be a blind alley – completely the wrong response,” says Drayton.
