The Spanish multimedia consortium Wisdom Group has closed its deal to buy wireless data portal Zed from TeliaSonera, for $36.7 million. Wisdom investors Apax Partners, iNova Capital and the Perez Dolset family helped finance the acquisition.
Zed, which provides mobile content in Asia and Europe, will couple with Wisdom’s LaNetro division to expand Wisdom’s Asian and Western European markets, as well as target new markets in the United States and Eastern Europe.
Press release: Following the transaction, the shareholdings in the Group will be as follows: Perez Dolset family 43%, Apax Partners Funds 35%, iNova Capital 18% and other minority shareholders 4%.
