Samsung Buys Wireless Wallet Chips From Philips

Samsung Electronics will put Philips’ contactless smart cards in their mobile phones, so handsets can double up as wallets…It is the second major cell-phone maker after Finland’s Nokia to agree to buy Near Field Communication (NFC) chips from the Dutch electronics company. Together, Nokia and Samsung sell almost half of the world’s mobile phones.
