Will Craigslist, which just sold a stake to eBay, start accepting Google Adsense ads on its site? A billion pageviews, with the expressed purpose of transaction-based content, and you can easily figure out that it is a low hanging fruit (double-dip, some may call it) waiting to be tapped….
Wolfgang Harrer, a Silicon Valley based tech reporter who writes for German newspaper Die Welt, sent me this tip: “I talked to the CEO of Craigslist, Jim Buckmaster two days ago and asked him why he still wasn’t allowing Google to feed ads into Craiglist. Buckmaster said: ‘It becomes harder and harder to resist this offer. At this point, though, we think that Google’s ads don’t match the content of our individual pages precisely enough. Once Google has figured out the accuracy of its adsense-program, it will be very hard for us to still say no.'”
