This is a vendor survey, so please take it with a pinch of salt. New data from Enpocket’s quarterly mobile marketing report, Mobile Media Monitor, shows that Java and BREW mobile game downloads grew a whopping 75 percent quarter over quarter, from 4.4 million downloads in the second quarter to 7.7 million downloads in the third quarter. Mobile game downloads doubled quarter over quarter among 18-25 year old phone owners: in the second quarter, 11 percent of 18-25 phone owners were downloading games versus the third quarter, in which 22 percent downloaded games.
Press release: The following results show significant increases in the number of adults downloading all media types:
— Graphics (wallpaper, icons, logos, etc) has increased at an incredible rate – 57% increase to 11 million active adults
— People downloading monophonic ringtones (the most popular downloadable media type) has increased 32% to 18.6 million adults
— Similarly polyphonic ringtones have increased 28% to 11 million adults
