MSN;’s Traffic Going Down

According to data from Comscore, MSN is losing traffic to Yahoo and Google in crucial areas, such as search, e-mail, news, sports and finance.

Overall unique visitor traffic at MSN grew 3 percent in 12-month period ending June 2004, compared to Yahoo’s 6 percent and Google’s 13 percent. During the same time period, traffic declined 10 percent at MSN Search, 6 percent at MSN Hotmail and 11 percent at, according to comScore’s data.

Some industry experts find the trend worrisome for MSN because it could affect the portal’s main source of revenue — advertising.
