SmartServ Launches Youth MVNO Uphonia

SmartServ Online, the mobile content and tech provider, has launched a new telecom MVNO called “Uphonia” in U.S., featuring low cost, pre-paid cell phone service bundled with thousands of free ringtones, images, and graphics.

RCR Wireless: The Uphonia service currently uses CDMA services from Sprint PCS, TDMA services from AT&T Wireless and Cingular Wireless, and GSM-based services from AWS, Cingular and T-Mobile USA. Available handsets are similar to what the host carrier uses for its network.

This moves ties up SmartServ’s strategy for buying out prepaid cards retail distributor KPCDD, nReach (mobile content kiosks)…this gives it retail presence to push Uphonia.
