Also in the latest issue of B2B’s Media Business magazine (download here): a story on TechTarget, the B2B tech media company which received a whopping $70 million in venture funding recently. This “media company of the future” will be an integrated enterprise, including online, print and events, and it looks remarkably
like the companies that CMP Media, International Data Group and Ziff
Davis Media are creating–except that while TechTarget is converting itself
from a Web-focused model, the others are migrating from a print-focused model.
TechTarget plans to grow, at least in part, through acquisition. In the
past, the company has bought several Web properties and even a print property, Information Security. Industry observers expect TechTarget to buy more magazines.
