Intel has set its sights on wireless communications and is angling to play a key role in designing products for the “digital home.”
In keeping with its habit of building reference designs for devices that could eventually use its silicon products, Intel has worked to develop what it calls the “Entertainment PC.” That’s a slim PC connected to a television screen and designed to be used to organize and consume digital content such as music, movies and games. Intel said Entertainment PCs “will be capable of sharing content wirelessly and operated with a remote control instead of a keyboard.”
