Comcast is taking the “value” road while Cablevision is taking the “price” challenge. Which model will prevail in the broadband sweepstakes?
Comcast has decided that the clearest path to high-speed gold will come by introducing new features to its Comcast.net portal.
“We’re working on games and video chat, video e-mail, video messaging,” Comcast chairman and CEO Brian Roberts said at a Sanford C. Bernstein & Co. analysts’ conference last month. “Everything we’re doing is how to make the broadband experience work. So we have quietly gone about getting ourselves positioned to be a major force…to begin to have a relationship with customers that ought to create real value for us for years to come.”
