Here’s an interesting demonstration of using web users’ aggregated info to develop a data service…CNET today brings its GameSpot Trax analytics service to market after an 18-month beta test. GameSpot Trax enables video game publishers, retailers, market researchers, and advertisers to gather data and granular intelligence on consumers’ gaming interests.
Trax, which was free to advertisers for the past 18 months of its beta-test period, will charge advertisers on a case-specific basis.
More interestingly, CNET has filed to patent the process and services, and is going to deployed for MP3.com, CNET’s informational digital music site. It is halos trying to license it to other Web publishers.
