BBCi Must Attract More Viewers

The BBC board of governors has said that the Corporation needs to address the fact that the number of people using its interactive TV services isn’t growing in line with the spread of their availability.

The governors’ report revealed that spend on BBCi has increased from £9.5m in 2002/03 to £15.3m in 2003/04. The amount is still small in comparison to that invested in bbc.co.uk. BBCi benefited from a reallocation of funds that saw spend on the Corporation’s sites fall from £75m in 2002/03 to £66.7m in 2003/04.
