Online media services like music and video market will reach $7 billion by 2008, according to a new report by Digital Tech Consulting. Although revenue from online music and movies totaled just $250 million in 2003, the research shows rapid growth, driven by such factors as premium subscription and per-unit content sales.
The report calculates that online media sales over the next five years will be dominated by per-unit content sales, such as the Apple iTunes.
