Based in New York City, the Director of Sales will have responsibility for developing new business and working with existing customers to improve their businesses. In conjunction with the executive management team, sales team, and sales support organizations, the Director of Sales will establish and maintain customer relationships to maximize the company’s sales efforts and results.
Responsibilities:
– Manage all sales activity in New York City and other East Coast areas as needed.
– Develop sales forecasts, strategies and customer profiles.
– Establish and maintain long term working relationships with existing and potential customers.
– Develop account strategies and sales plans.
– Establish and maintain effective communications with appropriate customer executives.
– Identify, qualify & manage sales opportunities with media companies.
– Management, tracking and reporting of all sales opportunities.
– Assist in the development of sales programs and budgets.
– Perform independent sales activities.
– This position may be required to work extensive overtime, as necessary, depending on department and project schedules and requires regular attendance.
– Must be willing to travel approximately at least 40% – 50% of the time.
– Any other duties which may be assigned or necessary.
Qualifications:
– Minimum of 8-10 years of sales experience with preferred background in media, content, and/or technology
– Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of management
– Must possess a professional demeanor and the ability to maintain confidentiality
– Qualified individual must be detailed oriented and have demonstrated the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
– Ability to work and perform outside of HQ
– Knowledge of cable, high-speed Internet a huge plus
– Knowledge of basic media metrics
– 5+ years experience selling hardware/software solutions in the cable television and/or Video on Demand markets
– Must have a history of successful relationship building in relevant industries.
– Proven track record in all sales aspects.
– Must be motivated, energetic & self-starter.
Education:
– Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
– MBA a plus
