WFMT going online after cable plug pulled

Well, this is a how the world’s going…a classical music cable radio station will go online. WFMT-FM was broadcast via cable TV systems for 25 years, but a unilateral decision taken by Tribune Co. will result in it dropping the audio service next month from its cable superstation feed.

Starting in early July, the station will begin streaming its signal online on a paid-subscription basis. It is expected to cost $60 a year for WFMT Fine Arts Circle members and $100 a year for non-members.
