Scott Kauffman, a regular fixture in the digital music industry for the last year and the CEO of MusicNow, the online music service bought out by CircuitCity recently, has left the company. Kaufmann was appointed CEO of MusicNow in February last year.
He has joined Zinio Systems, the digital edition software solution company, as CEO. He succeeds Mike Edelhart who served as CEO for two years.
Kauffman’s prior background includes senior positions with CompuServe and Time Warner, including five years as a member of the founding team of Entertainment Weekly magazine and VP of biz dev for Time Warner Interactive. He also served as CEO of Coremetrics, the leading web services provider of marketing analytics solutions, where he continues to serve as chairman of the board.
