America Online has launched pay-as-you-go IM service aimed at corporate users…it has formed pacts with WebEx and Lightbridge to enable users of its popular IM service to initiate both telephone and Internet conferencing.
Reuters: “We’re making (AOL Instant Messenger) a new front door for communications services,” said Ed Fish, senior vice president of AOL’s Desktop Messaging. “We think it’s becoming the new phone.”
