Second-Tier Sports Leagues and Broadband

An interesting story in UK on how the second-tier soccer league is trying to attract fans using broadband, as the premier league becomes expensive etc, and the other leagues get little TV airtime…

“Using nothing more than BT RichMedia’s content platform, a camera and a laptop, the highlights will be edited down and posted to the new site within an hour of the final whistle.”

“Taken individually these sports might not attract huge viewing figures, but backed by sponsorship and advertising and offered an interactive outlet on the web unencumbered by TV schedules they could still be good earners for rights holders, ISPs and production companies alike.”
