Supports NPR‘s efforts to generate revenue through sponsorships on the company’s Web site and related platforms (the “Digital Media Properties”) as well as manage efforts in cross-selling the Digital Media Properties with NPR’s on-air programming. Secures corporate support primarily for NPR’s Web site and Digital Media Properties through prospecting, crafting sales strategy and sales messages, training and advising the National Representatives on online sales issues and servicing accounts to maximize customer satisfaction and retention. Designs, sets-up and manages the infrastructure and systems for insertion orders, manages inventory, tracks traffic to sponsorship messages and reports results to the National Representatives, advertising agencies and clients.
Bachelor’s degree preferred with minimum of two years experience in sponsorship or media sales support with at least one year experience in Internet advertising or sales. Established relationships in the Internet advertising market preferred; experience with radio or print advertising sales would be relevant to the new online product(s); solid knowledge of Web browsers, search engines and other Web-based software applications. Must have ability to understand and explain Web sponsorship trends and technologies; a solid knowledge of Web traffic metrics and experience working with a Web metrics reporting tool. Excellent organizational, analytical, relationship-building and interpersonal skills; a highly motivated prospector; proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint (strong computer literacy required); and solid writing and sales material presentation skills.
