BBC Scotland is to trial the use of broadband and digital technology to deliver more local news in a shake-up of the corporation’s activities planned by the new controller, Ken MacQuarrie.
“We will look at broadband and also online services to deliver at the local level,” said MacQuarrie. “One possibility is to look at piloting split transmission. For example, a pilot scheme in south-west Scotland… would look at delivering TV news digitally and as well as using analogue.”
