RealNetworks plans to launch its online music service in South Korea later this year…it is already in talks with local companies on doing some joint ventures on this front. Also on anvil,: launching mobile versions and online games…
The company started providing a pay service for the European Championship soccer matches through a local website last month as the first step in entering Korea.
Interestingly, the company’s charges for its online music service would be much lower than in the United States. It is considering charging 3,000 won ($2.60) per month and 500 won to 700 won per downloaded song.
