Los Angeles-based American IDC has signed a letter of intent to merge with ETV Inc., a company that streams films and special interest channels over the Internet, and will offer movie downloads for as little as 99 cents.
ETV, also LA-based, has an exclusive agreement with Digital Continuum, a related company, for U.S. broadband use of Digital Continuum’s streaming technology. In addition, ETV has broadband streaming rights for a library of Hollywood classic films, television programs and cartoons that totals 10,000 titles.
Future plans call for establishing separate broadband channels for classic sports, extreme sports, religion, self-help, cooking and other areas of interest.
