Yahoo Finds a Friend In MSN

Yahoo CEO Terry Semel is asking MSN to work together, on an industry level…”It’s important…for companies like Yahoo and Microsoft to start working more together, because we have a common goal–to take a greater and greater share of the marketplace,” he said, speaking to Microsoft MSN’s ad summit.

Reuters: “Not only do I welcome the idea of doing things together, I think it is absolutely critical,” Semel said. “There is no such thing as a major marketplace for advertisers … if there is only one network to talk about.”

I am not sure that’s the best clarion call…I always find the whole “let’s put up a united face so that we can sell online advertising as a whole” thing slightly dubious…
