Fully 36 percent of online users had high-speed connections by the end of last year. That’s fueling an explosion of online entertainment offerings — from free movie trailers and music videos to music download stores and personalized radio stations.
Even AtomFilms, the Internet movie pioneer that was forced to merge with Shockwave.com to survive dot-com dust bowl days, is finally finding its audience in the new, high-speed world. Three million people a month watch its short films and animations.

Also, some 80 percent of MusicMatch’s 185,000 premium radio subscribers connect via high-speed link. That’s a dramatic increase from just two years ago, when only about one-third connected via high-speed.
