BBC Plans For Mobile and TV Integration Via Java

This is an idea waiting to be copied: The BBC has taken a major step forward in the integration of mobile and TV, revealing plans to enable consumers to interact with TV programmes via a downloadable Java application. Downloaded over WAP, such a service would enable a branded application to be downloaded onto a consumer’s phone, which would enable synchronised interaction with programmes.

The corporation is currently running an internal trial of the service, before evaluating how to roll it out to programming.
