Canadian digital music company Moontaxi Media–which owns the first legal download site in the country, Puretracks.com–has tied up with telecom company Bell Canada will sell song downloads through a Sympatico Music Store.
The co-branded service is expected to launch this spring and will be fully bilingual. Any Internet user will be able to use the service, but the company’s 1.4 million Sympatico high-speed subscribers will get special offers and exclusive access to new music downloads.
Other deals are in the works, said Moontaxi co-CEO Derek van der Platt, who wouldn’t comment on rumours that Future Shop and Wal-Mart Canada could be among the next to announce.
