VoIP is hot, Verso is not, according to Independent Research Group senior analyst Erik Zamkoff, who this morning dropped coverage of the Atlanta-based company. According to a February 23, 2004, report by Infonetics Research, the market for next-generation voice products grew 31.0% in 4Q03, as vendors benefited from a surge of budget clearing and overall trend to VoIP.” In the same period, Verso’s business was up 0.1%. “After reporting a second consecutive disappointing quarter against a backdrop of strong VoIP industry trends, we question the company’s ability to integrate recent acquisitions and deliver quarterly revenue growth,” Zamkoff writes in his morning note.
