Sony Music in Japan and Sony Finance International have joined to launch a possible first among the music circles, worldwide: it has launched a mobile payment credit-card co-branded for a popular Sony Music Japan artist Senri…The Visa card has a non-contact “FeliCa” IC chip (much touted as a contactless mobile payment technolgy…NTT DoCoMo pans to embed it in its new mobile phones shortly) embedded and enables users to use online credit card service “eLIO” and electronic pre-paid cash “Edy” so they can safely and easily purchase music CDs and artist novelty goods online.
