CinemaNow Offers Diane Sawyer’s Mel Gibson Interview For Download

Does this mean this is a subtle expansion of CinemaNow’s mandate: offering movie-related programs for download along with movies? Would be a smart first expansion move, and not expand to become a generalist download site…

Anyway, it has announced a licensing agreement with ABC News to distribute Diane Sawyer’s exclusive interview with Mel Gibson. In the TV program “Primetime” interview Gibson discusses the controversy over his newly released film, “The Passion of the Christ.” The program, which originally aired February 16th, is now available for download on both a pay-per-view basis and as part of the CinemaNow Premium Pass subscription service.

In addition to the Mel Gibson interview, ABC News’ “Saddam Hussein: Captured” and “Peter Jennings: The Kennedy Assassination, Beyond Conspiracy” are also available on CinemaNow, which of course, is a dangerous move, if you ask me. Stick to movies, guys, for now
