AOL Acquires Tribune’s BlackVoices

(reg. req.): After months of speculation, AOL has finally bought out BlackVoices.com, a popular Internet site serving African-Americans. Over the next six months, AOL will evaluate the integration of BlackVoices with its own services focused on the African-American community. During that time, Tribune will continue to host the BlackVoices.

Barry Cooper, who founded BlackVoices eight years ago while working at the Tribune’s Orlando Sentinel, will not be staying with the company, nor will he be making a move to AOL, reports TargetMarketNews.
