Playboy Enterprises’ online division turned its first annual profit last year, reversing 2002’s operating loss of $8.9 million to an operating profit of $2.8 million in 2003.
A 28 percent increase in the online group’s revenues to $12.3 million in the 2003 fourth quarter contributed to the swing to a segment profit of $1.9 million, from a loss of $0.3 million in the 2002 fourth quarter.
Fourth quarter 2003 subscription and e-commerce revenues rose 56 percent and 28 percent to $5.2 million and $6.2 million, respectively, as compared to the prior year
