The always prolific Joe Wilcox hammers out his thoughts on what all of this may mean for Microsoft, especially since it has close relationships with both Disney and Comcast: “There are a number of ways a Comcast-Disney could work together to distribute WMV content more rapidly to consumers. One idea: on-demand service tied to TV Foundation that delivers WMV or WMV HD Disney content to a Windows Media Center PC or Xbox attached to a television. Microsoft’s Extender technology could further distribute the content from either device.”
