Brian Roberts, CEO, Comcast: All content is going digital..consumers want their content the way they want…we are in the business of delivering that…

Steve Burke, president, Comcast: The Disney library could be tremendously valuable on the new platforms…we’re big believers in VoD…majority of people in the future will have time shifting in their behavior. We think time shifting ABC products will be very valuable…we intend to give them that ability to our consumers. We have over 5 million data customers. The ability to marry these wonderful brands with our broadband should be great…wouldn’t it be wonderful if you have a Disney on-demand service [online] which parents can subscribe to for our children, for $9.95 a month. All of the Disney’s brand like ABC and ESPN are waiting to be leveraged on these new channels…

More Brian Roberts: Value of this merger for the consumer: The Internet proves to me that consumers want to control what they get, when they get it and how they get it. Comcast has been all about that, since 1962, giving people more choice in TV. Tommorow, we want to give everybody VoD…right now, we don’t have a fully rich lineup in our VoD, but we are getting there..
We believe the way people interact with their TV is going to change in future. HDTVs are selling well. Broadband…we are selling 30,000 hookups a week. The content: the richness of content from Disney…yeah, you can get there eventually, but if you’re one company working together, you can get there faster.
