Oplayo, a Finnish media player company developing software for the mobile/wireless devices, has received $5.6 million in venture investment from Siemens Mobile Acceleration, the mobile ventures arm of Siemens and Nokia Ventures, Zouk Ventures and Holtron.
The software-company offers audio and video streaming for Java and Symbian phones. Oplayo’s core technology is based on MVQ-codec, which provides for very light decoding and allows streaming for low-end and
mid-range mobile phones.
