A new European company, Rightrouter, was launched at MIDEM, that aims to sell pop artists’ songs to mobile content providers, while protecting copyright. Rightsrouter allows licencees to secure content for current and emerging distribution channels, while allowing labels to control their rights. The company has already brokered deals with O2 Music, Napster, OD2, Sony’s leading Japanese ISP SoNet and Chinese broadband providers.
