NYT Digital’s Revenues Jump 27 Percent; NewsTracker Gets 25,000 Subscribers

NYT Digital, parent of NYTimes.com, reported revenues of $25.0 million, up 27.2 percent from $19.7 million in year-ago qurater, and operating profit more than doubled to $7.2 million from $3.3 million, primarily due to higher advertising revenues resulting from increased volume.

According to an NYTD spokesperson, premium products and services at NYTD accounted for $3.0 million in revenue in whole year 2003, a 47% increase from 2002’s $1.6 million.

including the ProQuest archives back to 1851 that became available on
NYTimes.com in December. In May, NYTimes.com relaunched the NewsTracker
e-mail alert service as a paid service for $19.95/year. By year end,
25,000 readers had subscribed to the paid service.)
