Yahoo will bundle its Web services with high-speed Internet service from Rogers Cable, a major Canadian cable company. These services include customized Web browser, enhanced e-mail and instant messaging, security and spam control, pop-up advertisement blocking and digital storage.
Yahoo already has similar agreements with SBC Communications in the United States and with BT in the United Kingdom.
Reuters: “Yahoo currently receives $3 per month per subscriber from SBC. For this new arrangement with Rogers, assuming $2 per month per subscriber flows through to Yahoo, the deal could be worth approximately $20 million in high-margin revenues,” Jordan Rohan, an analyst at SoundView said in a client note.
