Unlikely Media Competitors

(via IWantMedia): An analysis piece on how big media players are inreasingly beginning to take convergence cues from players such as Microsoft, Intel and Sony, and how these quasi-tech media hybrids will finally rule the roost…

“There are rumblings that much more of the crossover will begin to reveal itself in cable television’s digital platform, with Microsoft software downloaded into set-top boxes and involved in head-end content distribution. Even while touting its next generation of interactive multimedia devices, Sony will seek to bring more of its copyrighted electronic games, films and television product to major cable operators and their systems.

There appears to be little doubt-big media is taking its cues from the master.”
